Variations on a Theme

Well, saw the Dark Knight the other week and thought it was good. I guess I had Heath Ledger's Joker in mind as I was doodling the other day, and it ended up being a Dark Knight-esque Joker that I drew. It's kind of the version I'd do in a comic book- not meant to look like Heath, but obviously inspired by that iteration.

Daddy Daze

Well, it's been a while since I updated here, so let's see what's new in my life...

Oh, I'm going to be a DADDY! So yeah, that thought has taken up 98% of my brain's capacity. Nickie is doing well. Hearing our baby's heartbeat for the first time was the most amazing sound I'd ever heard. We have our second OBGYN appt tomorrow at 1:30. We're both extremely excited to hopefully get good news again.

Otherwise, same old same old. I'm job searching, and may have a good lead on a school photographer position, which would be sweet because Nickie and I would share the same schoolyear schedule (no weekends/holidays!).  I have an interview Tuesday at 5:00 so say a little prayer for me if you think about it.

Going to see the Dark Knight on Wednesday and I'm looking forward to it! Heard nothing but good things about it.

Saw Hellboy II last week and while I enjoyed it, it is a very different film from the first one. H2 is much more Del Toro than Mignola. I'm lucky that I'm a fan of both Mignola and Del Toro independently, so I'm easy to please when they are collaborating, regardless of the individual input ratio.

Re-read Watchmen in anticipation of the film, and was pleasantly surprised by the trailer (like everyone else, I think).  I'm glad they are keeping it set in cold war 1985 as opposed to trying to modernize it with contemporary political happenings.
