Inspired by songs....

The first one came to me after listening to Nick Cave's "Mercy Seat", a song about being on death row, proclaiming his innocence up to the execution by electric chair,  but in the end saying "I'm afraid I told a lie".

The second one is extremely simple but it came to me when reading an article about Paul Simon which mentioned that his song "Sounds of Silence" was inspired by his crooning to himself in the bathroom with the lights out.
